Vulgata

1 Saint Michael the Archangel,

1 Sancte Michaël Archangele,

2 defend us in battle;

2 defende nos in prælio;

3 be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

3 contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto præsidium.

4 May God rebuke him, we humbly pray:

4 Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur:

5 and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,

5 tuque, Princeps militiæ cælestis,

6 Satan and all the evil spirits,

6 Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos,

7 who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls,

7 qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo,

8 by the power of God,

8 divina virtute,

9 thrust into hell. Amen.

9 in infernum detrude. Amen.
