Vulgata

1 Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy,

1 Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiæ,

2 our life, our sweetness, and our hope.

2 vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.

3 To thee do we cry,

3 Ad te clamamus,

4 poor banished children of Eve.

4 exsules filii Hevæ.

5 To thee do we send up our sighs,

5 Ad te suspiramus,

6 mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

6 gementes et flentes in hac lacrimarum valle.

7 Turn then, most gracious advocate,

7 Eia ergo, advocata nostra,

8 thine eyes of mercy toward us.

8 illos tuos misericordes oculos ad nos converte.

9 And after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

9 Et Jesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui, nobis post hoc exilium ostende.

10 O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

10 O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria.
